Invited Review Article: Combining scanning probe microscopy with optical spectroscopy for applications in biology and materials science

The characterization of nanomaterials is important in order to determine how their structural, optical, and electrical properties will influence their potential reactivity. In the following review the authors focus on examining the technical challenges in combining the power of scanning probe microscopy with optical spectroscopy in order to characterize unique nanostructures.
